United by the Sea: Our Collaborative Spirit

Welcome to the heart of our Regatta – the people and clubs that make it all happen. The Brightlingsea Regatta is more than just an event; it’s a testament to community collaboration and the shared love of the sea and our town. Here, we introduce the key players who bring this spectacular day to life…

Brightlingsea Sailing Club:

With a history dating back to 1888, the Brightlingsea Sailing Club is not just a part of the Regatta; it’s part of the town’s heritage. Known for its contribution to sailing excellence and community engagement, the club plays a pivotal role in organising and executing many of the sailing events.

University Community Sailing Club:

UCSC opens the world of sailing to all, boat owners and enthusiasts alike. With a fleet available for member use, they champion the art of seamanship, enriching the Regatta with educational initiatives and community participation for sailors from all backgrounds.

Colne Yacht Club:

With its superb sailing facilities and dedication to the sport, the Colne Yacht Club brings expertise and competitive spirit to the Regatta. Their involvement ensures a high standard of yacht racing and marine activities, contributing to the event’s esteemed reputation. Colne Yacht Club is also home to Brightlingsea Coastal Rowing Club (BCRC) www.brightlingseacoastalrowingclub.co.uk

The Committee: Backbone of the Regatta

Behind the scenes, a dedicated committee of individuals works tirelessly to ensure the Regatta runs smoothly. This team handles the immense task of planning, coordinating, and managing the various aspects of the event. From logistics to safety, marketing to vendor management, their collective effort is the glue that holds the Regatta together.

Volunteers: The Unsung Heroes

The Brightlingsea Regatta would not be possible without the spirit and hard work of countless volunteers. These individuals give their time, energy, and skills to ensure every aspect of the day is enjoyable and safe for all. They are the friendly faces you meet at every turn, the hands that set up the events and sessions, the guides who ensure you find your way, and so much more.
