Brightlingsea Regatta offers a host of delicious food and drink options. Here is just a taster of what you can expect to find within the regatta area. In addition there are other great places to get food in Brightlingsea if you would like to take a five minute walk up to the town.

Colne Yacht Club – will be open to the public throughout the regatta. On Saturday things kick off with breakfast from 8am to 10am. From noon until 11pm the Pimms and Real Ale bars and the main club bar will be open and the BBQ will be running from noon as well. At 7pm on Saturday evening CYC is hosting a Fireworks dinner of Coq au Vin and Honey Comb Cheesecake for which tickets at £14.45 can be booked through the CYC office on 01206 302495. On Sunday the Real Ale Bar, main club bar and BBQ will all be open from midday and on Sunday afternoon the club will be serving a delicious Regatta Afternoon Tea.

University Community Sailing Club – will be open to the public throughout the regatta. There will be an early breakfast both days as the competitors for the Harkers Yard Eastern Region Gig Championship gather and prepare for their competition. The bar will be open throughout the weekend and there will be food offerings too.

Brightlingsea Sailing Club – will be open to the public throughout the regatta. On Saturday from 8am the bacon butties will be on the go, then at 11am the galley opens offering delicious home made sandwiches, snacks and cakes throughout the day. The bar will open at noon and the BSC cadets will be running their famous popcorn and candy floss stall. From 5.30pm the club goes into chill out mood with a pre-fireworks BBQ and Beach Party from 5.30pm as we prepare for the spectacular firework display, which takes place directly opposite the club. On Sunday the BSC galley opens again at 11am and there’s the added attraction of the Great BSC Bake Off with delicious home made cakes and buns on sale. From 3pm drop in for the BSC Regatta Afternoon Tea.

The Coach House Coffee Shop – Open from 10am to 4pm daily and offering a fabulous array of home made food, the Coach House is always a popular destination for anyone visiting the hard area with an attractive outside courtyard area and a regularly changing gallery display inside.

No 1 Harbour Square – set on the Marina concourse this super wine bar and bistro is open from 10.30am to 11.30pm on Saturday and 10.30am to 6pm on Sunday. A great place to relax in the sunshine and enjoy a refreshing cocktail whilst watching the boats go by.

The Yachtman’s Arms – one of Brightlingsea’s best loved traditional pubs with a very well deserved reputation for excellent food, a lovely beer garden and a welcoming atmosphere, the Yachtman’s will be open throughout the regatta.

Kovalam – Indian restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner on both days.

Dragon 8  – Chinese Take Away will be open for lunch and dinner on both days.

Lido Cafe – The cafe at Brightlingsea Lido will be open both days.

Bateman’s Cafe – a walk along the Promenade to inspect the beach huts entered into the Best Dressed Beach Hut Competition wouldn’t be complete without a pit stop at Bateman’s Cafe for a well deserved snack or ice cream. The cafe will be open from early morning until late afternoon both days.

Regatta Food Stalls – We have a fabulous array of food and drink stalls attending the regatta offering everything from gourmet coffee, tea and hot chocolate, to noodles, Caribbean food, cup cakes and candy floss. The stalls are located along Waterside and The Hard and at Brightlingsea Sailing Club.
